I can't say this book wowed me, but it is an okay read. The opening scene ,including dialogue, was right from the popular TV show, Shark Tank and I found that unoriginal. However, the author does a great job with the setting. Chicago and the surrounding area comes to life. What didn't were the main characters.There just didn't seem to be a whole lot of sexual tension between the two. Also, the 3 year old son didn't seem to be well developed. He didn't talk like a three year old or walk and run. His mom was always toting him. The story does have a HEA.Product details

Wonderful wonderful love story. I couldn't put it down.. I fell in love with Vanessa and Alex, and little Bo. Can't wait to read the next book in this series...
There were several grammatical errors, but not terrible.. This is only the second book I have read from this author, and i am sooooooo glad I started reading this series... Can't wait to see what's next... Keep up the good work.
I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put the book down! "Good" girl, Vanessa, steps out of her comfort zone with a steamy one night stand only to have her hunky "mistake", Alex, show up as a financial sponsor and mentor for her family bakery. She needs his help to keep the business afloat while supporting her toddler son and paying for her dear sister's chemo. Despite her attempts to keep the relationship strictly professional the hot chemistry between them breaks down Vanessa's resistance. I found it amusingly contemporary to set the opening of the story in a game show. I loved the Chicago and beautiful Lake Michigan beach town settings. Author, Barbara Lohr's descriptions are so rich that I was transported from yummy bakery smells to hearing the waves and feeling the sand on the beach. I loved the realistic characters who had depth, strength and vulnerability . This story had some great twists which kept up the intrigue. Barbara Lohr is a fantastic writer and I will definitely be reading more of her books!
Vanessa goes on reality tv with her sister to win money for their bakery and to help get them back in the black after her sister's illness is draining their liquidity.
The one judge she wants to impress is off for the night and in his place is the one person Vanessa thought she would never see again, her one and only one-nighter, and she gets her precious son out of the deal.
This is a fun book and I love the way Alex realizes he wants to help them.
Might become one of my favorite books!
Really enjoyed this book. Read it in one day. All the characters were likable and fun. Romance book lovers will enjoy this one. The only thing that kind of turned me off was taking the Lord's name in vain in a couple places. I'm not saying there was a lot of swearing because there wasn't and the sex was kept to a minimum which I really liked. I will read the next book in the series.
Very enjoyable read, first book by this author. I liked the characters and interaction had a good flow. I think that I will read another book in the series.

I enjoyed this book. Vanessa had a wild weekend fling four years ago. She never got his name. Now, she's on The Eye of the Tiger, a reality show for budding entrepreneurs and who just happens to be sitting there ready to interview her but her Vegas Hottie. Alex decides to invest in Vanessa's family bakery. Now they have to deal with the chemistry between them while Vanessa tries to keep things on a professional level. Throw in a sick sister, a three year old son and her Grandpa Joe and you get a fun, romantic read.
Whenever I read a romance, I want to be a part of the couple's happiness. Ms. Lohr sweeps you along into her magical place of love, whether mismatched or mistaken. A sweet, touching romp that is sure to make you smile.
